Assistant Principal - Raising Standards Leader

The central function of this role is to act as the raising standards leader to provide high level analysis of all Academy data, including attainment, progress, attendance and behaviour to evaluate and promote an Academy culture focused on student achievement.

You will use the information that you discover from the data to lead intervention work with Heads of House and academic staff as well as adapting the curriculum to ensure it is compliant and appropriate to our community.

You will develop staff competency in Data Analysis and help academic staff to plan lessons and support using data.

The overwhelming majority of staff who responded to the survey issued during the inspection feel proud to work at the school. They agree that leaders do all they can to ensure that the school has a motivated, respected and effective teaching staff’. In addition the English department were complimented for their ‘effective practice’ and ‘strong achievement over time’ .

The Academy has an excellent reputation within the local community with strong support from Governors, Parents, Students and a dedicated and highly motivated team of staff.

Teacher of Maths (full time or part time)

We are seeking to appoint an additional enthusiastic teacher of mathematics to add even more ideas and energy to our already expert department. The post would suit an experienced mathematics teacher looking to make their mark, or an NQT. NQT statutory induction is provided. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across the Key Stages, including our highly successful sixth form if appropriate. Part time/Full time hours available.

Teacher of Girls PE & Outdoor Education

We have outstanding sports facilities along with an outdoor education site where students are taught bush craft and survival skills as part of the PE curriculum. This post will also involve DofE activities.

SUPPORT STAFF:

Clerk to the Governing Body

Casual (as and when required)

Hourly Rate        £25.00 per hour including holiday pay

The Clerk’s main role is to provide professional clerking services to the Governing Body and its main committees.

You will:

  • Be able to take accurate minutes to produce professionally presented minutes for distribution
  • Collate and distribute agenda and associated paperwork in advance of meetings
  • Be available to take minutes at 15-20 meetings per year. Meetings normally take place early evenings and late afternoons
  • Provide procedural and legal advice and guidance

Good listening, oral, literacy and computer skills are essential along with being reliable and a keen interest in education.

Maternity Cover – Subject Lead Science

Exam Invigilators

Hourly Rate currently £8.35 per hour (including holiday pay)

The Bourne Academy is looking to expand our invigilation team to assist with internal and external exam seasons.  This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to work flexible working hours.  As an exam invigilator, you will need to be reliable, good timekeeper, responsible, good communication skills and the ability to work individually or part of a team.

Exams are taken at various times during the academic year, which means working on a casual, as and when required basis.  This role is paid hourly and is subject to an enhanced DBS check. Proof of Right to Work in the UK will also be required.
