    Reminder: Strike Action 27th April and 2nd May

    We are currently working on plans to mitigate the impact on our students, and we will communicate those plans to you as soon as possible. However, any provision will still prioritise:

    • Vulnerable children and young people

    • Students due to take public exams and other formal assessments

    Year 11 and Year 13 will still be prioritised, however, we are also looking at inviting in selected students from other year groups, who may have important assessment deadlines and we will update you as soon as possible.

  • BBC100 'Share Your Story'

    Delighted to welcome The BBC into The Bourne Academy today. The BBC100 Share Your Story’ is part of the BBC’s wider centenary celebrations, visiting around 400 secondary schools across the UK in 2022. In each session a carefully selected BBC Ambassador, (for us: Ray Gillies, BBC Researcher), shares their inspirational journey with students, in a bid to inspire them through the power of storytelling and aspiration. Ray Gillies gave an empowering talk to our students demonstrating his perseverance in overcoming personal challenges to achieve his career at The BBC.

  • A Level & BTEC Results 2022

    97% A* to E grades achieved and the vast majority of Year 13 students have secured their choice of university or course of study. 

    The Bourne Academy, an all-ability state-funded secondary Academy sponsored by Canford School, is delighted to announce it has achieved another excellent set of A-Level and BTEC examination results. Standout results have been achieved in Music and Sport. Students are going on to higher education to study a wide variety of courses, some are taking up apprenticeship opportunities and others are entering the world of work.

  • Team Pitch at National Careers Challenge Grand Finals 2022

    A team of students from Year 10 attended the National Careers Challenge, Grand Finals 2022, in Birmingham on 7 July.  They earned their place by developing a new mobile phone game app called 'Fitfun' and had the opportunity to pitch their product to a judging panel at the event.

    The team of four students was proud to represent the Academy and the entire community on the day and deserve to be extremely proud of their achievement.
