Trips & Expeditions

At The Bourne Academy, learning extends beyond the classroom. Our wide-ranging programme of trips and expeditions is designed to inspire, challenge, and broaden students’ experiences.

International & Residential

Students have opportunities to travel abroad, including visits to New York, Barcelona, and ski trips. Sixth Form students also take part in university residentials, offering valuable insight into higher education.

Adventure & Development

From DofE expeditions to paddle boarding on Scotland’s Caledonian Canal and the Bourne Scholars residential at Camerons Cottage, students build resilience, teamwork, and independence.

Cultural & Educational

Trips to Stratford-upon-Avon (including Shakespeare’s birthplace), the Mayflower Theatre, MiSST concerts in London, and visits to Westminster and the Houses of Parliament enrich classroom learning.

Rewards & Enrichment

Students are rewarded and inspired through trips to Thorpe Park, RockReef, Paultons Park, alongside a variety of local visits, both recreational and educational.

Our programme continues to grow, offering students a rich variety of experiences throughout their time at the Academy.

Rockley Point Watersports Centre:

"I would like to pass on the appreciation of all our staff that thoroughly enjoyed teaching Academy students.  The group were wel-mannered, enthusiastic, friendly and a credit to your school and we would be delighted to welcome a group back in the future.  I hope all the pupils and staff who wernt on the trip had a fantastic time and have recuperated fully from what was a very active and busy week!"

Pip Woods, Managing Director, Rockley Watersports.
