Consultation on school admission arrangements for 2028-2029
From 5 November to 18 December 2025, The Bourne Academy is asking for people’s views on proposed changes to the admission arrangements for the Academy. The final arrangements will be published on our website by 15 March 2026.
Background
The School Admissions Code (2021), published by the Department for Education, requires all admission authorities to consult on their admission arrangements if they are seeking to make changes from the previous year or if the arrangements have not been consulted on for at least 7 years. consultation must take place for a minimum of 6 weeks between 1 October and 31 January. The final arrangements must be determined by 28 February 2027.
The admission arrangements include the admission policy for each year of entry to the Academy, the Published Admission Number (PAN), any minimum entry criteria (sixth form) and the oversubscription criteria, should there be more applications than places available.
Consultation
The Bourne Academy is its own admission authority and is proposing the following changes to the admission arrangements for 2028/29:
- Amendment to the oversubscription criteria to add a category for children attending Kingsleigh Primary School in Year 6 and who are on that school's roll at the closing date for applications.
All other details remain unchanged. The link to the full proposed admission policy is included at the bottom of this webpage.
