Academy A Level and B T E C Success

For the second year running, 100% Academy 6th Form students have achieved A*-E grades in their A Level exams and 100% of BTEC students gained Pass rates.

Congratulations also go to:

  • The B T E C Outdoor Adventure Group - all students received a minimum of one Distinction grade, with 50% of the group achieving an amazing triple distinction (D*, D*, D*).
  • Sophie Edmondson - who has secured the grades required to progress onto her 'coveted' Higher Apprenticeship with JP Morgan, beating hundreds of other applicants.
  • Sophie Eaton - who after achieving a triple distinction (D*, D*, D*), is going onto a higher Apprenticeship with Land & Wave.
  • Max Andrews - who secured an Apprenticeship at Cobham Plc.

Mr Avoth, Principal, said 'we are all thrilled with these results.  They build on the successes of last year and we are immensely proud of our students. We are particularly proud of our successes within the following subject areas, where all students entered, achieved a higher grade A*-C or equivalent; English, Performing Arts, Psychology and Sport (Outdoor Education).  These results are proof of what can be achieved with the combination of students, teachers, parents/carers, all working together to reach the same aims.'

Mrs Franklin, Head of 6th Form said 'I am thrilled that all of our Year 13 students who have applied to university have secured an offer at their first choice.  It was fabulous to see that all of our leavers were delighted with their achievements and future plans today.  I feel very proud of this young, successful 6th Form.  We are going from strength to strength.'

The 6th Form Open Evening is Wednesday 12 October 2016, 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
