Several schools have a House system underpinning their pastoral care. Relationships within the House are strengthened through regular House assemblies and internal competitions which also provide an opportunity for friendly rivalry between the Houses.
The Academy’s House system is named after the lighthouses standing at various points along the south coast, providing illumination, aide navigation and safe harbour for mariners and wayfarers. At The Bourne Academy we aspire to do likewise for all our students. The Academy seeks to broaden the horizons of all its students. From the moment a child enters the Academy’s Pastoral Team offer care and support which helps students’ confidence to grow. This creates the platform on which academic success can be built.
Every individual, their needs and aspirations, are important. The Academy values every child and every adult associated with it. We aim to create a culture in which every person is treated with dignity and respect.
Main Purpose: To provide administrative support to the Director of Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare and the Heads of Year, ensuring the welfare and progress of our students in their learning, personal development and transition journey at the Academy. In addition act as a point of contact for students who need additional pastoral support.
This role is demanding and rewarding, and you must like children! It is important that you have experience of working with children ideally in a school setting.
We invest in our staff and we have a fantastic CPD programme for everyone to access.
All posts are subject to enhanced DBS checks. The Bourne Academy is an equal opportunities employer.
