Work Experience

All Year 12 students are required to complete a one-week work experience placement as part of our careers programme. This is a valuable opportunity to develop employability skills, gain first-hand experience of the workplace, and explore careers that can support future university, apprenticeships, and employment aspirations.

Finding a placement:

We encourage students to start looking for a placement as early as possible. Employers across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole receive a high number of requests each year, so applying early gives students the best chance of securing a placement.

Students are encouraged to use their own contacts, including family, friends, and local employers, or to approach businesses directly by email, phone, or letter.

Logging your placement:

Once an employer has agreed to offer you a placement, it must be submitted through Unifrog using the students school login.

Simply enter the employer's details and a parent/carer's email address. Unifrog will then send the necessary forms to the employer and parent/carer for completion. Once everything has been received, the school will review and approve the placement.

If you need support using the placement tool, Unifrog provides a helpful guide and video tutorial: The Placements Tool - Help - Placement - Unifrog
