MiSST

The Bourne Academy is proud to be one of just 37 schools nationally selected for Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST) programme, and one of only two in the South of England.

Since September 2022, every Year 7 and Year 8 student has been given a classical instrument, enabling them to learn through both curriculum lessons and additional funded sessions.

Through the programme, students receive at least two years of structured tuition from specialist peripatetic teachers in violin and flute. They also have opportunities to perform in concerts with students from schools across the country, enriching both their confidence and musical experience.
